A run is one grab. Turning the ring by hand counts for nothing — the score is whatever it turns on its own once you let go, until it settles. Grab it a second time and you have started a new run. Avg is per throw of at least one revolution, counted from today; runs reach the board a few at a time, and at once on a new best.
